This image was captured at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, the block forms are representative of all those lives taken and forever displaced. The silence being lost in the maze of blocks is haunting, and yet, something about the nonchalant nature of a guy enjoying a the sun is in the midst of this is oddly reassuring that we can move out of the past and into the present moment.

  1. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to see this memorial. And yes, the photo with the guy enjoying the sun is quite the contrast
